Tonights's Show - Tuesday 8th March

1. We'll be looking at "TASERS". The WA Police have recently tendered a $20,000 contract for more Stun Guns to be used in the general police service. Currently the Tactical Response Group use them in emergency situations. There are concerns that the so called "non-lethal" Tasers can kill. We'll review a recent Amnesty report into around 80 deaths in the USA and Canada, where approx 5000 Law Enforcement Agencies have been using the weapon since 2001. See Newswire Story...

4. The WA to Canberra-bound delegation of Wongatha-Ngadju people [from WA Goldfields] has strong support from Aussie Rules legend Michael Long. The crew arrived in Melbourne on Saturday. Mr Long stated: "they do not have a voice for their people in national policy formulation". The group are on their way to Canberra to meet with John Howard and other politicians to deliver a message of deep dissatisfaction with the Federal Government’s stripping away of regional representation for Wongatha-Ngadju people and their alienation from policy formulation...
